A 15-MINUTE CITIES PROJECT NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING WAS HELD
Bodrum Municipality held a neighborhood meeting at the Şevket Sabancı Culture and Arts Center on Thursday, November 27, as part of the 15-Minute Cities Project. The meeting, where the street layout, pedestrianization, and transportation works planned by the Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate for the pilot area covering Karcı Street and its side streets were shared, was attended by the neighborhood representatives of Bahçelievler and Turgutreis, as well as citizens residing and conducting commercial activities in the area. At the opening of the meeting organized by Bahçelievler Neighborhood Head Fatma Akalan, Climate Change and Zero Waste Manager Ezgi Acer Çetinkaya outlined the project's objectives, the current process, and the upcoming implementation phases. Çetinkaya stated that the project aims to increase pedestrian safety and accessibility, revitalize public spaces, and improve the quality of neighborhood life. Planning Together, Deciding Together The meeting, which saw high attendance, revealed that citizens were closely following the process, clearly expressing their suggestions and expectations, and actively participating in discussions by asking questions. The gathering took place in a constructive environment where participatory local governance was genuinely implemented, with neighborhood residents directly involved in decision-making processes. At the end of the meeting, it was announced that Bodrum Municipality would continue to regularly share developments regarding the project's work schedule and implementation steps with the public.
