Drıvıng Urban Transıtıons (DUT)
The aim of this call is to support transnational research and/or innovation projects addressing urban challenges to help cities transition to a more sustainable economy and functionality. The challenges are grouped under three themes called Transition Pathways: Positive Energy Districts (PED), 15 Minute City (15mC) and Circular Urban Economies (CUE).
The projects selected under this Call will be directly funded by national/regional Financial Institutions in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
The call is open to a wide range of scientific disciplines and welcomes interdisciplinary approaches. It aims to support a wide range of activities from research to innovation and application. It also asks for stakeholders (companies, public authorities, NGOs...) to be explicitly involved in the projects and for the needs of users to be taken into account when setting project objectives.
What is the 15 Minute City Cycleway (15mC)?
The 15 Minute City concept is based on the idea that city dwellers should be able to meet the majority of their daily needs within a 15-minute radius, on foot and by bicycle, connecting to more remote areas and travelling longer distances by other forms of sustainable transport. The 15 Minute City mission is to facilitate the analysis, elaboration, experimentation and testing of innovations for 15-minute cities in co-creative environments, recognising different urban contexts and focusing on transferability.
Project Start and Collaboration:
The project, with a start date of 01.01.2024, is planned as a 3-year process. As of January, the work of our project has started in cooperation with Gazi University. A total of 16 organisations are included in our project. Meetings with these organisations are held online.
