WORK ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AND CLIMATE ACTION PLAN CONTINUES
Workshops were held on 25-26 September under the coordination of Bodrum Municipality Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate.
Deputy Mayor of Bodrum Municipality Yaşar Çelikkan, Bodrum Municipality Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate staff, relevant NGOs and professional associations participated in the workshops held at Herodot Culture Centre. As a result of the workshops, which lasted approximately 4 hours each for two days, the action drafts of the Bodrum Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan were created and the writing process of the plan was initiated.
The meeting, which was held with the aim of preparing a participatory Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan specific to Bodrum, was the final stage of the meetings held under the themes of Water Management, Disaster and Risk Mitigation, Agriculture-Forestry and Other Land Use, Buildings, Transport, Waste Management, Urban and Land Use Planning.
Mayor Ahmet Aras took an important step by signing the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy and initiated the Bodrum Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) with the aim of adapting to the impacts of climate change as well as reducing emissions in Bodrum.
