MUNICIPALITY TAKES AN IMPORTANT STEP IN TRANSITION TO SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS

Solar lighting systems were installed by Bodrum Municipality in Ortakent Çaldırak 30 August Victory Park. Bodrum Municipality installed solar-powered lighting systems in Ortakent Çaldırak 30 August Victory Park in order to encourage the use of sustainable energy. Within the scope of this project, four solar lighting systems with sensors were installed in the park. The installed lighting systems can provide energy without being connected to the electricity grid and save energy by switching on when necessary thanks to their sensor structures. This initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Bodrum Municipality Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate and the Directorate of Parks and Gardens, aims to reduce dependence on the electricity grid and significantly reduce carbon emissions. In addition, thanks to the environmentally friendly structure of the lighting systems and low maintenance costs, long-term savings are envisaged. The results obtained in Ortakent Çaldırak 30 August Victory Park will be useful for the implementation of similar projects in the future. Bodrum Municipality will continue its efforts to expand the use of renewable energy sources and implement environmentally friendly projects.
