BODRUM MUNICIPALITY AT INTERNATIONAL CITY PANEL
Bodrum Municipality participated in the International City Panel organised in Umea, Sweden Representatives of Bodrum Municipality Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate attended the City Panel held in Umea, Sweden on 28-29 May regarding the 15-Minute Cities Project, which Bodrum Municipality carries out with TÜBİTAK and Gazi University within the scope of Driving Urban Transitions Partnership. Challenges and strategies of the transformation process towards urban climate neutrality were discussed in the panel. The meeting created a platform for active exchange and co-operation on projects and innovative solutions among the participating cities. In the panel, more than 30 city representatives from 15 countries shared their experiences and provided feedback on the challenges that hinder sustainable urban transitions. After the panel, which was also attended by representatives of Çankaya Municipality from Turkey, field visits were carried out in order to benefit from the exemplary practices of Umea Municipality on urban transformation. During the visits, experts provided in-depth information on zero waste, circular economy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport. Within the scope of 15 Minute Cities, expert opinions on the bicycle route planned to be built in Bodrum were taken and route determination studies were started.
