BODRUM MUNICIPALITY GENERATED 106,500 KWH OF CLEAN ENERGY FROM THE SUN

The Bodrum Municipality continues to increase clean energy production through renewable energy investments. In the first six months of 2026, the municipality generated approximately 106,500 kWh of electricity from solar power plants, benefiting both the environment and its budget.

As part of the renewable energy initiatives carried out under the coordination of the Bodrum Municipality’s Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate and under the slogan “Clean Energy for a Livable Bodrum,” approximately 106,500 kWh of electricity has been generated by the municipality’s solar energy systems from January 2026 to the present. Thanks to the clean energy generated by the Solar Power Plant (GES) implemented by the Bodrum Municipality at the Bitez Marketplace, the project helped reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by approximately 58 metric tons and provided an environmental benefit equivalent to the annual carbon sequestration capacity of approximately 2,760 trees.

In line with its goals of combating climate change and creating a sustainable city, the Bodrum Municipality is accelerating its investments in renewable energy and is continuously working to reduce its carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, and protect natural resources while increasing clean energy production.

The municipality aims to leave a more livable Bodrum for future generations through environmentally friendly projects.
